Our Church History
Reverend J. Wesley Wiley was the first pastor. Our past pastors were: Rev. Henry C. Harrison, Rev. Charlie McBroom, Rev. Samuel Badgett, Rev. Fred D. Fuller, Rev. Spencer Woods, Rev. J.W. Siddle, Rev. Robert McLaughlin, and Rev. Earl D. Reams. The late Rev. Albert Graves served as Assistant Pastor during Rev. Siddle’s pastorate. Our present pastor is Rev. Joseph L. Wilson who has served faithfully since 1994.
Our Ministry has experienced growth and the blessings of God since 1914. Through the direction and guidance of God and the leadership of Pastor Wilson, there have been numerous ministries birthed which are designed to enhance the gospel of Jesus Christ, enrich the lives of those who are in need, and provide the opportunity for our members to use their gifts to the Glory of God and to Empower God’s People for God’s Glory. The leadership of MFBC has organized the following ministries: Couples Ministry, Culinary Ministry, Education Ministry, Evangelistic Ministry, Media Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Missionary Ministry, Nursery Ministry, Prayer Ministry, Seniors Ministry, Transportation Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Youth Ministry.
The faithfulness of God has brought us a mighty long way. We are not only excited about the history of our church but more importantly we look forward to the future of where God will take us. We press toward the prize of the mark of the higher calling in Jesus Christ. We know that Jesus is calling us higher and we still have yet more work to do, more souls to save, more lives to change and more victories to win. We know that we have come this far by faith, by continuing to trust in His word, and showing love for one another. We know that ‘eyes have not seen nor ears have heard what God has in store’ for us. God has kept McLeansville First Baptist Church since 1914 and He will continue to keep us until the day of His return.

McLeansville First Baptist Church was founded in the year 1914, when a small group of Baptists migrated from Caswell County to Guilford County. The first worship services were held in an abandoned organ factory in the township of McLeansville, with Reverend J. Arthur Bigelow as acting pastor. The church became affiliated with the High Point Baptist Association and in later years joined the Cedar Grove Baptist Association.
